While I’m creating a new product in my store, I want to be able to add some required Google Merchant’s attributes (specially gender and age group) simultaneously , not fixing them later after Google’s warning.
If not possible for any reason, at least loading them later via some sort of a CSV file, because i have a lot of products , and manual editing is not that cool !
The simultaneous approach is much more appreciated, and no 3rd party apps .
Google Shopping Gender & Age Group are information needed ONLY if you plan to have your products listed on Google Shopping.
This information is not compulsory during product creation but rather only if you choose to set up a product feed for Google Merchant Center using the Google & YouTube app.
Without any third party apps, there is currently no functionality to add those values when you are adding your products (on the product pages).
Thank you Clarice . I’ve been listing my products in Google Shopping since
last year , before moving to Shopify , that’s why I’ve listing errors
received via Google & YouTube app in the new Shopify store.
Yesterday I figured out a way to enter Google attributes at the product
insertion, but i’ll test it in the next few days , when i insert the next
patch of products, which I’m currently working on its data .
I suggest uploading 1 product manually and then exporting. I exported products and the CSV had all the required fields that you would need to import correctly.
Here are the fields I had, that include all the Google / YouTube app fields (Each one being it’s own column in the CSV file:
NOTE: You can go into Google Merchant to see the expected results for each field
Google Shopping / Google Product Category,
Google Shopping / Gender,
Google Shopping / Age Group,
Google Shopping / MPN,
Google Shopping / Condition,
Google Shopping / Custom Product,
Google Shopping / Custom Label 0,
Google Shopping / Custom Label 1,
Google Shopping / Custom Label 2,
Google Shopping / Custom Label 3,
Google Shopping / Custom Label 4,
Does this still work? Shopify no longer seems to show the google columns.
I can download a .csv containing all products with a specific type of error from Google Merchant Centre but see no way to upload the corrected .csv. Most of my products come in 10 colours and 10 sizes so google sees these as 100 different products and it’s just so time consuming to try and fix one by one. Adding feed rules have helped a bit but still can’t get it all to work.
No - seems to have gone in past week from bulk editor. I think on Fri I was editing and was accessible and now not.
But accessible via CSV in Shopify CSV or Matrixify CSV.
Hi guys! Yep, Matrixify is able to update Google Fields and we also offer a great tutorial on how to do so. You can also reach out to our support directly if you have any additional questions or queries!
Oh Golly Gee Willikers, who’d have thought ??? - Another way for shopify to milk more money out of you for something that should and was part of your subscription. Holy Cow … or should I say Cash Cow
I Believe you can add it under Custom Label in the bulk editor custom label 1 = age_group: Adult custom label 2 = gender: Unisex and so on …
For the future to all who are fighting with this same… Shopify product feed will melt your brain and the feed so badly, that eventually you would have to do like I did-> Cut the feed and connection completely to GMC, even when you edit the CSV file and go to specific column of AGE, GENDER and CONDITION → upload it back and boom, the data is not implemented. Still blank.
I have s store that sell Sports clothing etc. But I mainly focused on women clothing, so I decided to go around this utter mess by deleting my MALE products completely and focus only on woman clothing, it is so badly orchestrated that it made me physically sick trying to get it to work. I did it by going to my feed rules / attribute rules, if Gender has a value / has no value - Set to-> Female.
I refuse to bow to this system that gives you something but steals after your months of daily work and tears, so I decided to F the system.
This is nothing but money milking from the very step to the last, platform made to look easy and fancy to the outside, but if you’re about to make something worth your time → pay and pay and pay…
