How to add options to the Sort By menu that appears on Search page

I’m having trouble with the Sort By drop down menu after doing a search. When I click on a collection I have lots of Sort By options – Best Selling, Alphabetically, Price, and Date. But when I type in a search word and get to that page - my Sort By options are only Relevance and Price. How do I add more options there? I would like to be able to sort those results by Date so customers can sort and see newest items first. I can’t figure out where or how to do this. I am using Dawn theme 7.0.1 Thanks!
