How to add our IOSS VAT number to Shopify store?

Hello All!

We have added our IOSS VAT number to our store for Europe.

Our billing location is sat as USA.

The store was collecting VAT successfully from some European orders but now it stopped.

In the “Taxes and duties” configuration, I noticed this option :

Collect on orders shipping to the EU (IOSS)"

This is turned off because you’ve started to collect VAT in an EU country, or have a billing location there

How can I turn it on please? We are shipping from Jordan to Europe. Nothing in our store is sat in Europe.

Please advise!

Hello All!

I have upgraded our store plan to “Advanced”

And then I went to “Taxes and duties” and an option appeared where I can add European countries one by one, I added them and pasted our OSS VAT # for each one, and that worked! it seems like a work-around but it worked!

This is due to Shopify recent tax “upgrade”, which has caused us hundreds of unnecessary work to fix the issue for our customers.
