I’m trying to add a video (mp4) (rather than an Image, for example) to a section for my store using the Express Shopify Theme, and can’t figure out how to do it. Can anyone help?

I’m Miles from the Social Care team at Shopify. Thanks for reaching out regarding our Express theme. Express is designed for businesses who need a quick and easy storefront. With this comes fewer customization options than other themes.
If having a video on your homepage is important, you may need to look at another theme (you can find a list of free Shopify themes here) or hire a developer to make some custom changes to the theme. We have a great program called Shopify Experts where you can hire our vetted developers to make changes for you.
I’d love to hear more about your business and what type of video you’d like to add. If I can learn a bit more about what you’re trying to achieve, I would be more than happy to make some theme recommendations for you.

@mrthecba - are you trying to upload video or have it on youtube/vimeo? you can add its embed code in custom html section and it will work

Express was certainly designed as a one-page theme, but as discussed it does come with some limitations including fewer customisation options. With that said, I’m sure we can find the best them for you without the need for you to hire developers to create custom coding. I’ve included a couple of recommendations below, but you can check out a list of free themes here as well.

- Showcase multiple product or brand images on your home page through a slideshow.
- Display multiple featured collections on your home page.
