So when someone clicks on one of the subheading in my menu, it will automatically start downloading the file that I want to attach to it.

This will require a customized code and debugging. Unfortunately, you will need to hire a developer to do so

I wanted to second what @Made4uo-Ribe said, and let you know that this may require some very advanced customizations. The ability to enable a direct link to download a PDF file to the device requires changes to the platform infrastructure, based on my understanding. I am not a developer myself, so I don’t have much more insight then that.
