A merchant selling digital downloads wants to block UK and EU customers due to overwhelming post-Brexit tax requirements. Shopify doesn’t offer a native solution for country blocking.

Ultimate Country Blocker: Enables blocking any country with protection extending through checkout. Includes visitor logging to monitor traffic.
Status: The discussion remains open with no indication the original poster has implemented either solution or resolved their blocking needs.
I sell only digital downloads in my shop. The new tax requirements resulting from Brexit are a bit overwhelming and so I’m planning to just block those countries from shopping at my store.
I wish Shopify had a simply process for this, but I have not found it.
Does anyone know of the best way to do this?

Sorry that’s a hassle. Out of the box Shopify alone doesn’t provide a way to block specific countries from visiting your store. That’s why I made Blockade.
You can block up to 3 countries for free so that should cover your use case. Also you can customize the blocked traffic to be routed to a different URL or design the blocking page to show a call-to-action to another store that can fulfill their order.

You could try Ultimate Country Blocker. You can block any country from visiting your website. The block also carries over to the checkout. There is a visitor log for you to monitor incoming traffic.
