Hi,
There are lots of methods like
I use a spreadsheet-like bulk editor where I have all copy/paste and find-replace formulas available in Excel or Google Sheets.
I can see all products and variants on one worksheet and do any edits directly.
Then it would sync back the changes with the Shopify store.
Can You Teach how can i?
any video links?
I found a video on this page that might help
For 2k products where each one gets a different update, two things help: a spreadsheet-style bulk editor (@K_Br4’s works), and AI to draft the rewrite from existing data instead of writing each one from scratch. A Shopify-native PIM that bundles both can move 2k descriptions in a session rather than weeks (Peak PIM is the perfect solution for that kind of use-case).
Hi @Emiway
Simplest way you can export products, edit descriptions in excel or sheets then import for cleaner formatting, perform your find and replace using the bulk edit apps test on ten products first before updating all at once to avoid mistakes and keep your SEO fields and tags safe.
If you want to be really clever, you could use AI Toolkit to automate this.
You’d want to have some kind of interface or app to do it, but for large catalogues, the automation opportunities are huge.
If you connect a tool like Claude Code, you can give it some logic and see how it goes with optimising a few of your descriptions, then expand it across the rest of your catalogue. I’d definitely try it on a dev store first though and make sure you put the right guardrails in place.
Hi there! Editing product descriptions one by one is a huge pain, so looking for a bulk solution is definitely the right move.
If you are going to be updating them anyway, this is a great time to make sure they are actually set up to bring in organic traffic from Google. Here are a few quick tips to keep in mind
Length matters: Try to aim for around 300 words that clearly cover the product’s features and benefits.
Get specific: Use long-tail keywords. People searching for specific things are way more likely to actually buy.
Add an FAQ: Throwing a short FAQ section at the bottom of your product pages is an awesome hack to capture traffic from question-based Google searches.
Doing all of that manually across your whole catalog takes forever. To bulk edit everything easily, I highly recommend checking out the MO AI SEO – Speed Optimization It handles a lot of the heavy lifting from one simple dashboard.
Here is how it speeds up the process
Bulk Editing: You can update meta titles, descriptions, and image alt text for a bunch of products all at the exact same time.
AI Help: It actually looks at your products and uses AI to suggest better titles, descriptions, and keywords.
Quick Audits: It runs a scan of your store and gives you a 0 to 100 score, pointing out exactly what’s broken or missing.
Schema Code: It automatically adds background code (JSON-LD schema) to your pages, which helps Google understand your products better and can make your search results stand out more.
You can grab it from the app store and use our free plan to run a quick audit of your store to see what needs updating right away
Hope this saves you some hours of clicking around!
