I want to change my background color on my specific collection.

You can achieve this using metafields, put the color hexa code in the metafield and for the collection then you will set this metafield . It will have the background css for that collection.

Just to gather some additional context, could you let us know which theme is live on your online store? As this will determine the next steps to making changes to the background color on the collection pages of your online store.
If you are unsure about which theme is live on your store, you can navigate to the Theme Editor and select the three dots that are appearing towards the top left of the page. I took a screenshot from my test store to show you the section I am referring to:
