Hi, when I change image banner on pages, it applies to all the pages. How can I change the banner only in selected pages?
Hi, @arutze . I’m happy to help you out with this! Which theme are you currently using? Can you also tell me more about the pages you’re creating? I just want to make sure I’m giving you helpful advice for what you’re trying to do. If you have any examples of the image banners you’d like to appear on these pages, that can help as well.
When you customize sections and blocks using your theme editor, the updates you make are applied to your Default page template. By default, this template is applied to all of the pages you create within the Pages section of your Shopify admin. This means that if you add an image banner section to this template, an image banner will appear on all of your pages. The content you connect to that image banner section, would be the content connected to that section on all of your pages. The best way to manage this would depend on exactly what you’re tying to do. However, I typically recommend creating additional page templates so that you can customize them individually. This guide has more information on creating new page templates. Once the new templates are created and customized, you can apply the correct page templates to the corresponding pages in your Shopify admin by following these steps.
If you have an image banner on all of your pages, and it’s just the image itself that differs, you may also want to consider using metafields and dynamic sources to do this. This option would allow you to customize your default page template in a way that the image banner section dynamically changes to display the correct content based on the specific page being viewed. We have more information on using metafields and dynamic sources here.
