How to change the bottom of slideshow to an image? (or just a different color)

I would like to change the color of the area beneath the slideshow. Currently, it is this popcorn ceiling looking texture, that makes it impossible to see the “dots” so you wouldn’t even know its a slideshow. I would like to be able to make this either #303137 or #4DC0FO, or if possible, I would love to upload an image behind the slideshow so just a thin section of that image is shown underneath the slideshow images.

This is the area I want to change the color. You can see in the red square that the dots are barely noticeable:
