how to change the color of the background in Sense theme

Topic summary

A user asks how to change the background color in the Sense theme, specifically wanting something other than white.

Solution provided involves two main approaches:

  1. Theme Customization Panel: Navigate to Theme Settings → Colors to access color scheme options

  2. Color Scheme Configuration:

    • The Sense theme uses multiple color schemes (scheme 1, scheme 2, etc.)
    • Each section of the theme can be assigned a specific color scheme
    • Users must update the color settings within each scheme, then ensure individual sections (like the header) are set to use the desired scheme

Key technical detail: Simply changing colors in Theme Settings isn’t enough—each section has its own color scheme selector that must be configured separately.

Community members provided screenshots demonstrating the exact navigation path and settings panels to help visualize the process.

Hey there,

I hope you are doing well. Sorry for the stupid question. Is there a way to choose one color for the whole background of my Sense theme? I just don’t want it to be white.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Hi @Kraftio_BG

You can experiment with some colors here, on your theme.

Explore your theme first before adding some code.

Hey @Kraftio_BG ,

To update the background color of your theme, you can use the customization settings. You can follow the steps below to achieve this:

  1. Open the theme customization settings.

  1. Open Theme Settings → Colors.

  1. You’ll see a list of color schemes in your theme. You can customize these according to your needs. For my theme, I adjusted color scheme 1 and color scheme 2 to set the new colors.

  1. Please note that in the Sense theme, each section has the option to choose its color scheme. Once you have updated the colors in the theme settings for the color schemes, also make sure to update the selected color scheme in the section settings. Below is the screenshot of the header section.

I hope this helps!
