If your Shopify store feels slow, here are the quickest ways to find what’s causing it:
1. Check Shopify’s Speed Report
Go to Online Store → Themes → Speed to see what’s affecting performance (apps, theme scripts, etc.).
2. Use PageSpeed Insights
Enter your URL in Google PSI. Look at “Opportunities” and “Diagnostics” for issues like large images, slow scripts, or render-blocking elements.
3. Review Apps & Leftover Code
Some apps add heavy scripts—even after uninstalling. Try disabling apps one by one or checking your theme code for leftovers.
4. Optimize Images
Compress large images and use WebP when possible. Oversized images are one of the biggest speed killers.
5. Test a Clean Theme Copy
Duplicate your theme, disable apps, then test again. If it’s faster, you know the slowdown is app-related.
6. Check Fonts & Custom Code
Multiple font files, old custom code, and external scripts can add extra load time.
