I have an automatic discount setup on my page like this: “Buy any product with a value above 899 and get product x for free.”
I also have a manual discount code of a 10% discount on cart value.
However, both are not working together even though I have combined them both.
How can I set them up so that both can be applied?

Great question! The reason for this is that most discount codes are unavailable for customers who have an automatic discount applied to their checkout, and automatic discounts take precedence over discount codes.
The only times it is possible to combine discounts is within strict parameters:
It sounds like you’ve tried to combine a product discount (Buy X Get Y) with an order discount (10% on cart value) which wouldn’t work.
So you would need to change your current order value discount into either a discount on products or a shipping discount. Then that could be combined with your automatic Buy X Get Y discount.
What is it that you’re selling? And what stage are you at in your store build?

I have an automatic discount for spending x amount of money you get a free product.
This works fine but when I’m on checkout page and I apply a manual code for 15% off the free product also gets this discount and it’s no longer free it get’s 15% off from its original price
