Our Shopify Payments account was recently shutdown without any warning, crippling our business entirely and causing immense stress and hardship. The policies that it was alleged we breached, were quoted to us. Upon reviewing the policies, it will come as no surprise that we contest vigorously the allegations and we were actually quite shocked that such an outcome could come to be when running a proper and fit business.
We were encouraged to source another payment provider rather than appeal. I have been successful in applying with Stripe, only to discover Stripe seems to be missing from the list of options for those living within Australia. In fact, it seems Stripe is the architecture of the very payment system were were terminated from using!?
What can someone who absolutely loves Shopify do in a scenario like this? Is there anyway to restore one’s reputation with Shopify? Our Shopify website itself was also flagged and taken down! Only to be re-enabled by Shopify once we provided the requested documentation.
I would have hoped that passing the one test put us in good standing with the Shopify Payment department.
Any help on how to get Stripe up and running in Australia would be most appreciated.
