How to correctly display variant product images on a webpage?

Hello there,

Seems like my template is having trouble display the correct images on the product page. Specifically, images of the variants of product.

For example, I have a product with 2 colour variant: black and white. I have 2 images for each colour variant. However after picking on a product variant on the “product picker”, on the website’s product page it always shows all the images (black and white) despite the selection being “white” only.

In the settings, i have also checked “Hide other variants’ media after selecting a variant”. But all other variant images are stil showing.

Need some help to properly hide the images of non selected product variant images.

Can you provide the store URL?

I don’t have a URL as I’m testing Shopify but I’m having the same issue on Dawn, Refresh and Ride themes. I have 42 variants and each has 7 photos which means almost 300 images load. My products are canvas prints with the variants being the different sizes. The first image in the carousel will change based on the selected variant but the other 293 images also load. Checking the box labeled “Hide other variants’ media after selecting a variant” does not work in any of the three themes mentioned. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
