Hello.
I want to create a multivendor marketplace for books.
At the same time, the site should have a scanner function for the ISBN code. I need sellers to be able to add information about a book to a product card by scanning its barcode. That is, information must be downloaded from Google Books, as is the case with Orca Scan.
Each seller must have his own personal account. It is important that the same ISBN from different sellers appears in the same buyer’s search. So that he can compare prices and conditions.
Simply put, I need local Amazon in its original form (a book marketplace with used and new books), but (important!) with the barcode scanning function (for sellers and buyers). Is it possible to do this on your platform?
Topic summary
Goal: build a multivendor book marketplace with barcode/ISBN scanning.
Core features:
- Sellers scan an ISBN (International Standard Book Number) to auto-fill a product card with data pulled from Google Books, similar to Orca Scan.
- Both sellers and buyers can use the barcode scanner within the site/app.
- Each seller has a personal account/dashboard for managing listings.
- Buyer search should unify the same ISBN into a single product page or result, aggregating offers from multiple sellers to compare price and condition.
Scope: supports new and used books; aims for an Amazon-like local marketplace experience focused on books.
Open question: feasibility on the platform—especially integrating barcode scanning, Google Books data retrieval, and a unified multi-vendor catalog per ISBN.
