How to create a staging environment for a client's store?

Hi everyone,

I am working with a client to design a new store for them. They already have a store on Shopify with a Basic Plan with a lot of products.

I would like to create a staging environment so I can work on that “clone” till the client approves the final version, then I can go live.

I created a partner account and added the client store but it give me access to the Live Store.

I also tried to create a new development store with the same name followed by “-staging” to the Store URL and now I have a blank store.

How can I clone the actual products and pages to this development store so I can start working on the new design?

I’ve searched everywhere but it seems impossible to do such thing without a monthly subscription plugin.

You can either create a duplicate theme of their live theme and then work on it OR copy the products and then use it in your partner account development store.
