Hey there,
building an automated collection based on tags, is there a way to combine multiple AND & OR conditions?
Example:
(Product tag equals to jackets OR
Product tag equals to coats OR
Product tag equals to vests)
AND
Product tag equals to women
As I didn’t find a way to do the above,
I built a collection of the first 3 tags
linked this collection to the navigation menu
tried to use the optional filter there (tag), which didn’t work either
Any ideas would be much appreciated 
Not out of the box - no. However we could build out a workflow automation for you to accomplish this if you’re interested!

How are others solving this issue?
Basically we would set up an automation that used those more complex conditionals to generate subsequent tags for you. If you want me to take a crack at this for you, feel free to install the free version of the app!

I solved it for now by adding new tags matching the condition above to selected products.

I went ahead and built out a workflow demo for this use case just in case anyone else might find it useful:
I have exactly the same issue as you (inability to create AND + OR collection conditions), and yours is the only post I can find on this topic 
You said you added new tags to match the conditions, but we were trying to move away from creating tags in the first place (since creating tags to have an AND + OR involves tagging every product with those tags instead of automated rules)
Yeah not the greatest workaround! Bummer there isn’t a better option. In theory the tagging shouldn’t be too much trouble though since it’s automated?
True but it’s an issue when you have over 300 products in a particular collection that suddenly you need to either shift menu, re-classify, merge or modify - and then you need to bulk edit all the tags…
It is insane that this is not an option!
