How to customize the checkout to implement a group buy function

Hi,

We want to customize the checkout to implement our group buying feature. Such as one user placed a group order which generates a group code. Then he can share with his friends to join the group order. But different users places their own orders separately and their order should be in one group.

Unless your’re on a Shopify Plus plan, there’s no way to customize the checkout anymore.
