How to Decrease Klaviyo Review Section Width & Set English as Default Language?

Topic summary

A Shopify store owner is experiencing two issues with their Klaviyo review section:

Width Problem:
The review block displays too wide and doesn’t align properly with the page layout. A CSS solution was suggested:

  • Add custom CSS targeting .klaviyo-review-wrapper
  • Set max-width: 700px and margin: 0 auto to create a more compact, centered display

Language Default Issue:
Reviews appear in multiple languages, but attempts to set English as default have failed. The store owner cannot:

  • Translate directly within Klaviyo (feature unavailable)
  • Use export/import workflow (system treats translated reviews as duplicates)

Proposed Solution:
Check Klaviyo’s dashboard widget settings for a language configuration option, or modify the review script to force English if the platform supports language parameters. The discussion remains open as the original poster hasn’t confirmed whether these solutions resolved the issues.

Hi everyone,

We’re using Klaviyo for our review section on Shopify, but we’re facing two issues we’d love some help with:

  1. Review Section Width: The Klaviyo review block is currently too wide on our store. Does anyone know how to decrease its width so it looks more compact and aligned with our page layout? Any CSS recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

  2. Default Language for Reviews: Our reviews appear in different languages, and we’d like them to be in English by default. Manually translating and then exporting/importing isn’t an option because:

    • Klaviyo doesn’t allow direct translation within the platform.
    • When we export, translate, and re-import, the system treats them as duplicates and won’t upload them.

Has anyone found a workaround to change the review language without running into these issues? Any help would be amazing!

Thanks in advance!

try adding this

.klaviyo-review-wrapper {
  max-width: 700px;
  margin: 0 auto;
}

Klaviyo’s review widget usually auto-detects language but you can force it to English by setting the language config in their script if they support that or through your Klaviyo dashboard where you set widget settings

if you don’t see that setting directly in the code you may need to go to Klaviyo’s Reviews setup area and set English as default there
