I changed my instagram handle and want to update it on my site in the footer. I did not see how to do it through the site editor. I also would like to add more social networks.

You are using Narrative theme and in this theme an option is available under Theme settings → Social to manage it.
Once check properly and I hope you will find it.

You can change this by going to your theme’s customization page. Go to Themes > customize > go the theme settings > then social media:
