Im currently having an error at checkout with my website ( https://decadence.jp/ ). Can anyone help me with this?
Our website is a Japanese website with a LangShop plug-in (language switcher) added so that the website can be viewed in English and Japanese.
Until last week users were able to checkout and purchase using both languages. Now suddenly the Japanese checkout page (default page) leads to 404 errors when clicking “Proceed to checkout” or “update cart”. (G pay is fine).
I noticed the Japanese website tries to add a “/ja” into the URL. Is this due to the language switcher?
Is there anyway to edit this?
It’s due to the language selector are changing url of checkout form redirection. You need to fix that to make your page work properly. If you’re using app for language switcher, please contact them and ask them to fix the issue.
Thank you so much for your reply! I thought this might be the problem, but I have no don’t know how to stop the language selector from changing the url. Can you teach me how to do it?
Thanks for your reply. In the first message, we mentioned that we have contacted LangShop. LangShop says:
“LangShop does not manage hreflangs and the way they are added to URL, it happens automatically on Shopify end once the language is published, moreover our application does not manage the performance of the default language somehow as well as performance of theme itself. Our task is to manage translations and put them into locales. As I can see there are no issues on the checkout page in the English version, translations are done and displayed accordingly.”
It is recommended to check the performance of hreflangs and why /ja hreflang is added to URL when the Japanese is the default language of the store."
