Our Sitemap doesn’t open and it shows

website name is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500
In the google search console, it does show status success when we submitted it.
We are an online bookstore, so there are over 20,000 products.
Any help will be much appreciated.

I understand you’re receiving an HTTP ERROR 500 when trying to open your sitemap. Oftentimes, this occurs when the query times out due to the number of products in a shop and the nature of how these sitemaps are generated. This is a limitation of our default site map. I’ve gone ahead and submitted a request to our developers to look into this limitation.
In the meantime, I recommend using third-party apps to generate your sitemap. Below, I’ve shared some sitemap generator options from the Shopify App Store.
