How to fix a sticky header covering fixed navigation on Boundless theme?

Hello -

I was able to get a sticky header on the boundless them but it is covering up the fixed navigation, which i would like to remain sticky and scroll with it. I also am having a hard time changing the color of the sticky header from transparent to white on the home screen. Any help is greatly appreciated!
