I am trying to create a WCAG 2.1 AA compliant theme, using Shopify’s newest version of Dawn theme (11.0 as of this posting). I am running into some issues with their out-of-the-box color scheme options and variations and contrast requirements. And need to figure out a fix.
I am sure this might be an issue with other sections, but right now just looking at the Mulitrow section with text. I selected a darker scheme for the text container, but the button in this section is using a variation of the colors defined in the scheme and there is not enough contrast between the background color of the button and text. The defined color in the scheme is white background with dark text, but it is changing to a darker button background color. See screen shots.
Any ideas how to fix this and for any other sections this may happen to in the future?
Additionally Shopify should fix this issue as they have publicly stated this is one of their most WCAG compliant theme, but out of the box this would create contrast violations.
