A Shopify store owner using the Dawn theme faces a double currency display issue on the order summary page: both the rupee symbol (₹) and “INR” appear together, causing problems with Facebook pixel tracking of purchase values.
Initial troubleshooting attempted:
Root cause identified:
Shopify’s checkout page currency display cannot be controlled through standard theme settings. The checkout page coding is separate from regular store pages.
Current status:
The problem impacts both visual presentation and Facebook pixel conversion tracking accuracy.
So i’m on dawn theme and my currency is set as INR, however at the order summary page the currency is shown as Rupee symbol can somebody please help me fix this.

Due to this, my Facebook pixel is not able to record this purchases’ currency and value. Hence this is very important. Can somebody help me fix this.

From Shopify Admin > Head to Setting > At Store Details > Scroll down a little bit at Store Currency > Click on edit and change your code like this screenshot
With your INR, please replace the VND in screenshot to INR

Hi again, seems like Shopify has changed the setting. Now the currency detail only works for other pages except the checkout page.
You would need to edit the coding of the checkout in order to remove the currency symbols here. I’m afraid the code of the checkout cannot be changed because only Shopify plus is able to make changes to the checkout page.
