How to fix Suspended account for Google policy violation in [Shopping_ads][US] on my shopify store?

Topic summary

Google Merchant Center account suspensions for Shopping ads (US) on Shopify stores, with Google providing no specific violation details.

  • Original poster’s store (smellgoodcandles.net) was suspended; multiple site reviews found no clear issue.
  • Update: After SEO (search engine optimization) edits, product titles were changed but product URLs (slugs) stayed based on the original titles. OP asks if a title–URL mismatch could cause GMC (Google Merchant Center) listing errors.
  • Another merchant reports the same suspension and a mistaken “adult content” flag, despite selling fire equipment.
  • Additional confirmation in Chinese: “我遇到同样的问题,你有答案吗?” indicating others face the same problem.

Status and outcomes:

  • No definitive fix or policy cause identified. No guidance from Google reported. Thread remains unresolved/ongoing.

Key open questions:

  • Does a mismatch between product title and URL violate Shopping ads policies or trigger automated errors?
  • Are false classifications (e.g., adult content) from automated review systems, and how can they be corrected?
  • What steps can merchants take to lift suspensions when Google provides no specific reason?

My website was running fine for quite awhile. Now Google suspended my account for some reason. The reason in Shopify states: Suspended account for policy violation in [Shopping_ads][US]. I’ve gone over my website multiple times and can’t seem to find where the issue is. They don’t give you a specific issue on what to fix either. Can somebody help me please? I’m at wits end on this. My website is smellgoodcandles.net If you want to take a look.

Just an update to my initial post. I was looking at individual items and found something interesting. When I first listed my items with the title, description, price, etc… , the product link to each of those items showed as [https://(store](https://(item) name.net/products/my-item-product-name, with hyphens in between each word on the product name. Later down the road, I was trying to improve my SEO, so I changed the title a little bit. In doing so, of course the item had a different title but the product link stayed the same. Now since the product link doesn’t match the title anymore, would this throw errors with listing on GMC?

We are having the same problem, and cannot find an answer…! Does anybody out there know how to fix this? Google Shopping worked fine for a while, and then, this popped up. They even said some of our sites showed adult content (we sell FIRE EQUIPMENT…!)
