How to forward store orders to external suppliers?

Let’s assume a customer places an order in my Shopify shop.
This order should then ideally be forwarded to my supplier which handles the shipping etc.

Are “Custom Fulfillment Services” sufficient to realize this functionality or do I need additional apps?
Suggestions are very much appreciated.

Further, how is the inventory (how many items are still in stock) handled in such a case? How would Shopify know, how many items the supplier has left or can it be deactivated?

Thank you

If you just need your suppliers to know where to send the orders (and then they can bill you for them later/monthly/etc) then the “Custom Fulfillment Services” would be all you need. This will send them an order whenever a product that’s assigned to them (via the ‘custom fulfillment services’ functionality) is purchased, including what products need to be shipped to which address.

As far as syncing their inventory with your store goes, you would need an app for that. Something like this (https://apps.shopify.com/stock-sync) which would allow you to sync your inventories with a CSV file that your supplier provides (and updates regularly).

Hi @dg_eye ,

If you’re still looking for a solution, We recommend you to check out Autofulfill which will help you retrieve all unfulfilled orders and notify your suppliers or vendors via email, Google sheet and a vendor link.

Once the order is shipped, the vendor can update the tracking numbers in the vendor link, and the order will be fulfilled in Shopify.

Thanks
