I’m trying to have a banner image at the top of the Collection page (not the homepage) and I don’t know what to do anymore. The Desktop version has a small blur to it and the mobile version is just super blurry and zoomed in. What I have: My original file is at 3000 x 540px at 300dpi and is perfectly sharp and detailed even when zoomed in very close in Photoshop.
What I need for Desktop: A resulting image with the same ratio and same sharpness.
What I need for Mobile: A resulting image with the same sharpness (I understand that some cropping will occur).
What I did: I’ve been testing with a lot of different image sizes, types of exports, ‘Save as’ vs ‘Save for Web’, PNG /JPG but I never get the resolution at which my original file is in, there’s always a small blur (or worst) and a cropping. I’ve been at it for the last 72 hours and tested at least 100 exports and I’m at the end of my rope…
The issue is most probably happening because your theme automatically resizes/crops the image - so no matter how high your resolution is, once its uploaded, it losses its quality.
A possible solution for this can be to edit the liquid code and remove the code that is handling the image compression.
