I would like to know how to optimise my Shopify Site (Stickers4Walls) for AI search engine results. Thank you
I would like to have the answer to the above question as well
In fact we’re finding it’s not much different than traditional SEO.
The top AI search platforms end up using Google search results for their grounding of their answers and that is what generates the citations. The main thing is to rank well for keyword searches that are hyper relevant to whatever prompt you are trying to be cited for. Then you have a very good chance of being cited and mentioned in the AI response generation and citation list.
What is different are the monitoring surfaces. We have ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity to keep an eye on and the metrics are a little different with things citation rank, citation rate, mention rate etc. There are vendors that can handle those or legacy platforms like Semrush and ahrefs are started to implement.
Make sure you’re hitting all your SEO basics and you’ll be in good shape!
Thanks Greg. That is really reassuring. I had a company approach me wanting £1k’s to optimise my site for this. They said that Stickers4Walls is currently blocking ALL AI Chatbots and crawlers which is having a negative impact on site visibility. They said I need to whitelist AI Chatbots (they list the same ones you do above) by modifying the robots.txt to unblock AI crawlers. Would that be true? Or a scare tactic to get me to part with money for something that isn’t needed.
Shopify platform would definitely not have blocked AI agents from crawling your website. Even if they have, you can modify robot.txt on your own. You can ask ChatGPT and it lays out the steps for you to do it easily. Nobody should pay for this.
Also, while you are at it, you can also generate a LLM.txt for your store which helps AI agents read your store’s information. Will it help you rank on ChatGPT? - Probably not, but this is just a hygiene factor which you should do anyways.
Cheers!
Wow thank you for this tip. Really appreciated
Hi @Stickers4Walls,
Sophia here from Tapita AI SEO and Speed Optimizer.
Based on our research with Shopify stores and AI search behavior, we’ve found that focusing on solid SEO fundamentals works best.
AI systems still rely heavily on strong site structure, quality content, and clean data. So if you focus on solid SEO foundations, you’ll naturally improve your visibility in AI-driven results as well.
Yes, apps analyzing LLM/AI visibility have existed since December, scoring citation rates and automatically boosting them via FAQ generation, blog articles, title/description rewrites, tags, and llms.txt setup.
Two Leading Apps
Two solutions dominate: RankinAI (affordable, simple for quick wins) and CitationCore (comprehensive for large stores).
I’d focus on clear product descriptions, real customer questions in your content, clean site structure, fast loading, and strong internal links so AI tools can easily figure out what your pages are about.
Claude only started mentioning us after we shipped a basic llms.txt with brand, catalog, fulfilment regions, and pointed it at clean product feeds.
From there I ran weekly “best [category] for X” prompts in ChatGPT and Gemini, logged when we appeared, and used that as our crude presence rate.
Whenever we were absent, we added more third-party context (press blurbs, verified reviews, FAQ answers) so the models had something trustworthy to cite.
It’s slow, but the moment we hit about thirty percent presence the AI channels began converting like an extra search campaign.
I’ve done so much for this over the past 6 months. I’ll share some ideas, you cantake only what you find a good idea:
-Get detailed reviews on Google, G2, Trustpilot - ones that describe you in various contexts and clearly say how you can help
-Participate in forums and discussions, earn good mentions in relevant topics
-Post on Facebook communities, ask LinkedIn influencers for promo-posts (or do similar stuff on platforms that make sense for your brand)
-Adapt your website with AI-oriented prompts on some pages. You can get those prompts from Profound, but it’s expensive, there are cheaper alternatives like Beamtrace, for example. You can find even more of them
-Improve structure, make clear FAQs with answers that have chances to appear in brief AI overviews.
-Add schema markup
-Make social media pages and post useful stuff + explain your business there
Thank you everyone. Since I posted I have also set up a shopify Agentic store.
Hi @Stickers4Walls and all who have similar questions ![]()
llm.txt is important, but contrary to popular belief, it’s not the biggest factor.
It’s more important that product data and JSON-LD are optimized, so LLMs can respond to relevant questions in the way they’re expected to. That’s why we’re developing Octolift; to optimize AEO and increase LLM visibility. If you’d like, you can sign up for the waitlist; Octolift Waiting List we’ll be starting trials with early adopters very soon.
