How to get traffic into my newly launched website

I have newly setup my shopify store - www.camelliatwigs.com for my Tea Brand out of India

Seeking inputs on

  1. Design and layout
  2. How to get traffic
  3. Recommendations and referrals

Hi, I’m Wayne from Akohub. We have been working with many brands to run online stores. After viewing your website, I believe our expertise could add value to your business.

  1. Brand Stories

Your site has a beautiful concept, but one part that could help build trust and boost your conversion rate is adding a more comprehensive brand story section. The layout at the “About” section looks simple and weird.

Consider adding more attractive images sharing your journey, the origins of your tea, and what makes your brand unique—whether it’s your sourcing, your values, or your connection to Indian tea culture. A heartfelt brand story not only creates an emotional connection with visitors but also reassures them that they’re buying from a genuine, trustworthy business, which can make a big difference in turning visitors into loyal customers.

  1. Get Traffic

To bring more traffic to your store, investing in Google Ads and Facebook Ads is a proven way to get your brand in front of potential customers quickly. These platforms allow you to target specific audiences based on interests, behaviors, and even past interactions with your website. Once you start getting visitors, it’s crucial to follow up with retargeting campaigns. Retargeting is effective because it focuses on people who have already shown interest by visiting your site or viewing your products. It works by automatically showcasing the exact products a visitor viewed, reminding them of what caught their eye and nudging them to come back and complete their purchase. This approach not only keeps your brand top-of-mind but also makes your advertising budget more efficient, as you’re reaching warm leads who are much more likely to convert.

  1. Loyalty Program

Beyond ads, setting up a loyalty program can be a game-changer for building a community around your tea brand. Loyalty programs reward customers for repeat purchases and referrals, creating a sense of belonging and appreciation. When customers know they can earn points or benefits for shopping and sharing your store with friends, they’re more likely to return and spread the word. This not only increases the chances of repeat business but also boosts your customer lifetime value, making your business more sustainable in the long run.

To streamline the setting process, you can check out our Ako Marketing App, which is designed to make setting up retargeting campaigns and loyalty programs much easier. The retargeting features help merchants efficiently reach people who visited your store but didn’t make any purchases with advanced optimization to ensure your ads are shown to the right audience at the right time. Additionally, the loyalty program features help quickly launch referral and rewards campaigns, foster a community and keep your customers engaged. With everything in one place, you can focus more on sharing your love of tea and less on juggling multiple marketing tools.

Best wishes! If you have any more questions or need a free professional consultation, feel free to let us know! Don’t forget to like and mark it as a solution if you find this helpful.

Hi @CamelliaTwigs

Let me share with you some feedback you can use to boost sales and traffic on the store in a better way:

  1. One of the titles called “Products” on the Navigation Bar of homepage should be changed into “Collections”, as when you see the URL structure content, it is clear to see it is named as Collection and by optimizing this part, it will be helpful for search engines like Google to index and know the page content more clearly and it is good for your store performance as well.

  1. The store badges should be moved from the bottom of the store to the place under the Buy it now button, which will be more outstanding and attractive for users to know what you support, and it is easier for visitors to have more trust in your store also.

  1. When I search your store on Google, I can see some answers appearing on the first page, which is good to know. However, if you would like to have a better performance and let users know more about store details, you can consider using one of the Advanced SEO features called Structured Data JSON-LD. It can make your search results colorful and add more elements like star ratings, images, reviews, and highlighted products etc. You can get more details from this guideline I found in Google Search Central Doc, and I believe it is beneficial for your store’s further improvement. Thank you!

Hi there, congrats @CamelliaTwigs ! For the traffic part, I’d recommend light paid ads to test what messaging works, especially around gifting or health benefits. When it comes to organic traffic, I’d highly recommend organic search optimization that keeps working even when you’re not running ads.

For instance, tea buyers may often search for specific needs such as “tea for bloating” or “best Darjeeling blends”, and the mission is to make your store URLs show up as “high” as possible in the search result pages.

Start by analyzing keywords for your niche. Let’s think like a customer: what would someone actually search for if they were looking for your tea products? It might be “Darjeeling vs Assam tea”, “Loose leaf tea online India”, etc.

You can use keyword research tools to expand on your list. Try type in “tea for…” or “Darjeeling…” in Google Search and see what autocomplete offers and use Google Keyword Planner to take a deeper dive into promising keywords. Next, you need to invest time to make unique blog content based on those keywords (like “How to Brew Loose Leaf Tea” or*“Best Teas for Relaxation”*) for your store. In the meantime, the product titles and descriptions should be optimized with natural language your audience would search.

To make that easier, I highly recommend our SearchPie SEO app as it helps identify keyword gaps, fix some basic yet critical SEO issues, keyword analysis, and many more. A lot of features can be done by some clicks to optimize your store’s SEO :slightly_smiling_face:

Just let me know if you have any specific questions about SEO (or the app, if you’re interested!). Happy selling!

@CamelliaTwigs

Design: Improve Camellia Twigs with a Shopify template that can be accessed using mobile phones, great pictures of tea and credibility proofs such as reviews and certifications.
Traffic: Apply SEO technique (e. g. “Indian green tea”), social media advertising (Instagram/Pinterest), low-cost paid ads ($50–$100/month) plus cooperate with many micro-influencers to increase traffic.
Referrals: Begin using ReferralCandy for referral program, motivate clients to give feedbacks, collaborate with Indian fitness companies for mutual advertising.

Hi @CamelliaTwigs ,

Your store looks great!

Here are a few suggestions that could help improve both design and performance:

:framed_picture: Design Optimization
Your Featured Products section is taking up too much space, which disrupts the overall layout and visual flow of your homepage. Consider resizing it or using a more compact widget to maintain consistency and professionalism across your store.

:rocket: Driving Traffic

  • Content Marketing & SEO: Build traffic by creating valuable content—such as blogs, checklists, guides, and well-optimized product pages—to attract and engage your target audience.
  • Niche Communities: Join online forums and communities where your ideal customers hang out. Share insights, answer questions, and softly introduce your store to build trust.
  • Social Ads: Use targeted ads on platforms like Instagram and Facebook to reach segmented audiences that are more likely to convert.

:bar_chart: Understand Visitor Behavior

  • Google Analytics & Hotjar: Use these tools to monitor how visitors navigate your site.
  • Identify traffic sources (e.g., ads, search engines, social).
  • Find drop-off points where visitors exit without converting and optimize those areas.

:wrench: Recommended Tools from Searchanise

  • Searchanise Search & Filter: A powerful and customizable search tool, perfect for stores with a large product catalog. Offers far more flexibility than Shopify’s default search.
  • Searchanise Upsell & Marketing: A comprehensive marketing toolkit including product recommendations, cross-sell pop-ups, a free shipping bar, and much more—all in one app.
  • Searchanise Trust & FOMO: Use psychological triggers like scarcity and urgency with visitor counters, stock countdowns, and custom trust badges to drive conversions.

Hope this helps!

Hi there!

First off, congratulations on launching your store. I checked out camelliatwigs.com and it’s a great start and the idea of a tea brand out of India has a lot of potential.

Here are a few suggestions that might help:

  1. Design and Layout:
Make sure your homepage clearly explains what your brand is about. A short, strong tagline, some high-quality product images, and a bit about your story can help build trust. Also, consider adding customer reviews, FAQs, and detailed product descriptions to answer buyer questions upfront.

  2. Getting Traffic:
Start by setting up social media pages on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest — these work really well for tea and lifestyle brands. Share behind-the-scenes content, the tea-making process, customer reviews, and short videos. You can also look into starting a blog around tea benefits, rituals, or recipes to help with organic traffic. Collaborating with micro-influencers or bloggers in the tea or wellness space can also bring in targeted visitors.

  3. Recommendations and Referrals:
Set up a referral program using apps like Smile.io or ReferralCandy to encourage your early customers and friends to spread the word. You can also offer small discounts or freebies in return for reviews and referrals.

Hope this helps. Goodluck! :slightly_smiling_face:
