I am creating a wholesale store to go along with my retail store. Customers can create a wholesale account and usually would have to request access to the account after they have created it. Then I would go an add a tag onto their customer account on the backend of shopify.
Is there a way to not have to add the tag and the customer can just get access to the account automatically?
Hi @HFC , if you’re not on Shopify Plus, there is no easy way to do this. There is always an option to use some app, like Customer Fields (Helium), or try to handle those customers with customer note. For example, when your customer register and filled in a field (something related to wholesale, like VAT) you give them an access based on that.

There’s a logic problem here as without an approval process then how would wholesale accounts be any different from regular accounts.
Even if it is on a separate store if you want automatic access for ALL accounts to be “wholesale” without an approval process then what is the point of adding a tag at all.

Thank you Paul for your answer. We want to have a separate store than our retail store and to have verified information of a person making a purchase, and they can have automatic access - so we are leaning toward the Helium App as a fix for that. Thank you
