How to hide live products on all collection pages?

I have a bunch of variants and prices for my products, so to get around Shopify’s 100 variant limit, I make a new product for each variant, and then link them together via the King Linked Options app. For example, if a customer clicks on a color for a t-shirt, it will take them to a new product page with that color t-shirt.

The problem is that all the different product options now show on my collection page and it looks cluttered! I’m wondering if it’s okay/good practice to just not assign the variant product pages to a collection page, and if so, what happens to the product? If it’s not recommended, is there another way you recommend I go about hiding some products on my collection pages? Thank you!

You can hide those products by using collection rules. Using specific tags for those products, then apply the rules like this-

Thanks! So if I don’t add any tags to a specific product, then that product will only show up via search?

Search and Collection conditions are different things. It’ll not affect the product search means, if you hide/exclude any products from the collection, it’ll still show as search result.
