How to hide out-of-stock items from size filter on my site?

Hi Shopify Gurus.

Is there a way to hide out of stock items from the size filter? Currently when customer choose size L, it is showing even the out of stock products. Is there any easy way to hide it without spending on apps?

ps: I have seen couple of threads about it but unfortunately the publisher of thread found no solution.

I believed there is out of stock filter as well. What theme are you using?
