How to hide thumbnails for a single product in Venture theme?

Hi i have one product that I don’t want to show the thumbnails for - but only for one product .

Ive tried to copy the product template/liquid - rename and then on products select the new page template just for that product but even though i have the same new template on my live site and my dev site - I t wont let my change on the drop down ? is there an easier way or am i missing soemthing please ?

You should remove the thumbnail code in the new product template you have created.
