How to implement mandatory packaging options at checkout?

Hello,

We have a meal delivery website (https://delectablebyzarlajane.com/) and we would like to make it mandatory for customers to choose if they would like to receive their meals in a (option a) paper bag for free or (option b) insulated bag for an additional cost.

Is there a way to add a checkbox that customers could tick before checking out? And when they choose option b, the additional cost will be added to their total.

We have been using a Product Customization app called ‘Infinite Options by ShopPad’ to add variants to our products. However, for this ‘paper bag or insulated bag delivery option’, we don’t want it to appear on every product because they only have to pick once. For example, when a customer orders multiple products, the customer will only need 1 insulated bag for all her orders. We don’t want to charge the customer for multiple insulated bags.

Is it possible to NOT make it an option per product? And just a ONE TIME option before checking out?

With this app you’ll be able to select the specific product(s) that you want to have that insulated bag add-on option at an additional cost. They offer a 7-day free trial so you can determine if the app is suitable for your needs.

Hi - I’m wondering if you ever found a fix to this? Looking to do the same thing and offer consolidated/simplified packaging for a jewelry brand and struggling to find an option that can be chosen at checkout and doesn’t have to be chosen on every product. HELP!
