How to include vendor name in inventory exports. I don’t see this as an option.

I would like to sort our inventory list by Vendor, then Product Name and then SKU.

Any thoughts?

Hey, @schmb1 . At this time, the fields that are included in an inventory export are the product options, SKU, HS Code (harmonized sales tax code), and COO (country of origin) code. At this time, the vendor name is not included there. One workaround you could do is if you aren’t using the COO or HS field is to insert the vendor names in those fields as well. That way when you perform an inventory export, the vendor names will be available for sorting and filtering within the CSV.

Otherwise, looking into a third-party data export app such as Exportier offers additional data exporting functionality that will potentially suit your needs.

I am disappointed that I would have to use Another APP.

Even when I exported ALL Products, the vendor name did NOT get exported, as CSV field.

I appreciate the suggested work around, by using different fields, to list the Vendor Name. More duplication.

Since the Vendor can’t be exported to a CSV and then copied to another field (ie: HS) and then imported, all of that data would have to be manually entered.

That would be too much fun.

Please put this request on the developers WISH list. I would have thought that you would have already had a number of requests for this information.

Second WISH list item.

We are using QBO (Quick Books Online) to track our inventory and associated costs.

Please ask the developers to transfer the COST of the item in QBO to Shopify, the same as they do for the inventory value.

Currently I need to go back into Shopify and update all of the inventory records,

with the new costs per item, after we calculate all of the Taxes and third party shipping costs, in QBO.

That would be very helpful.

Thanks again Dirk. Please put that request in, to include the Vendor Name in all Inventory Downloads.

Vendor Name is downloaded when we export ALL Products, so it should be included in the Inventory downloads.

A simple inventory download, of all of our inventory, took me 2 hours, as I had to copy every product downloaded by Vendor, into a CSV file, combine all of the vendors CSV files together, and then sort the complete file by vendor, then product, then SKU.

Your efforts to make that change would be appreciated.

Friends are saying, do not use the APP Exporter, as it changed the inventory levels.

Hello there - you should be able to use our app Report Toaster to download your inventory with vendor. If you are using Basic or Shopify plans you should be able to use our free version.
