I recently came across a discussion about a client/partner transitioning from Clover to using Shopify Payments. I’d like to confirm with @ShopifyDevSup whether there truly isn’t a viable option for integrating Shopify’s payment terminals with a Shopify store while also connecting it to a custom checkout application. It seems surprising that although I can create a shopping cart and build out orders, I’m unable to process these through a Shopify payment terminal via a custom application. Is this the case?
Additionally, is there a way to integrate with a shop’s Shopify POS system so that products scanned by our system can be added directly to the POS cart? I’ve reviewed the documentation at https://shopify.dev/docs/apps/pos, but it appears there’s no provision for manipulating the POS cart from an external system. Could you provide any guidance or workarounds for this?
