How to limit one discount code per purchase

Hi all,

I’m relatively new to shopify and e-commerce.

I send out customers who subscribe to my newsletter a randomly generated discount code to their email via Klaviyo.

I am now running a promotion with a discount code I am creating via shopify. How do I make sure they don’t enter two discount codes? I want them to only use one or the other. Thank you.

Hello There,

By default, Shopify only allows customers to enter one discount code per order, so there’s no need to worry about multiple codes being entered at one time! As a further precaution, you’ll want to be sure to check off the, “one per customer” box if you don’t want the code to be used multiple times in different orders.

Can you avoid customers using multiple email addresses? For example by validating shipping address and telling them they’ve used their new customers discount before on this (home) address?
