How to link seperate products to show on the same product page using 'Release' theme

Topic summary

A merchant using Shopify’s ‘Release’ theme created separate products for each color variant to display them individually on collection pages. They now want to link these separate products together on a single product page so customers can navigate between colors, but found existing apps clunky and hard to customize.

Community responses suggest two approaches:

  1. Restructure the product setup: One user recommends consolidating all color variants into a single product with proper variant options, rather than maintaining separate products. This is the standard Shopify approach and eliminates the need for workarounds.

  2. Use linking apps: Two app developers offered solutions:

    • Easify Product Options: Allows creating color swatches/buttons that redirect to separate product URLs. Requires manually configuring URL links for each variant and applying settings across all related products.
    • Variant Robot: Automatically links separate products based on product data, with multiple display modes (images, blocks, dropdowns, color swatches). Offers a 14-day free trial.

The discussion remains open, with the merchant sharing their store URL for further assistance.

Hey,

I’ve created seperate products for each color variant so that I can show all variants easily in collection pages, etc.

Now I’m trying to find a solution to link each of the products to the same product page so that customers can navigate between colors.

I have tried a few apps but they have all been clunky and difficult to customize.

Any ideas? The store theme is ‘Release’.

Thanks,

Jack

Hey @Jack19 you don’t need to use any app. I just want to confirm are your Showinf featured products on Home page or products in collection? And also share your Store URL so that I provide you solution.

Thanks

If I may get you right, you have a product that have different color variants but instead of you to have them all as a single product, thus allow your customers to choose from amongst the variant, you created separate product for each variant? If this is correct, you possibly are doing it wrong! Since it the same product that has all the color variants, go to your product page and insert each color variant and the images that match with them so you can have them all as a single product and this will allow you to choose from amongst the variant without any stress.. check what I did on this website so you can understand better: https://www.mytsharp.shop/collections/st-marys-soccer-merch

I hope this solves your problem… if you still find it difficult to do, kindly let me know!

Yes, we are showing products on home page and collection pages.

Hi @Jack19

I recommend Easify Product Options. It’s a no-code solution that lets you link separate products as color swatches or buttons, making it easy for customers to switch between colors. Here’s how it works:

  • This is the demo, when you click into a color, it will redirect you to its own URL

  • This is the app setting, you need to create 3 products separately in Shopify, then use Easify Product Options to attach URL like this:

  • Remember to apply this option set to all 3 products

I hope this answer helps solve the problem. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to Easify anytime! :hugs:

Hey @Jack19 ,

Big chance that our app Variant Robot can automatically link seperate listed products that presented as variants, without having to insert any code:
https://apps.shopify.com/variant-robot

The app can automatically link seperate products together, based on your product data.

The app also supports multiple display modes such as: Images, blocks, dropdowns, or auto-color swatches.

We offer a free 14 day trial.

Kind regards
