I am looking to create separate listing for each color of my products that would link to the same ‘parent’ listing. I want to make sure it wont affect anything with inventory as well.

Hi Elboy,
To ensure that your variants-as-separate-products are still connected to its parent, you’ll need to use metafields to connect it. Then, if, you’re looking to have the parent listing shown on the child listing’s page, your child listing product page will have to be customized in order to show the parent.
