Hi - I am using Express theme and want to have a button on the top banner that smooth scrolls down to an image with text lower on the page. Can someone help me out with this? Fairly new to coding

I want the “Find Out More!” button to smooth scroll down to the “where it started” section on the home page instead of going to a different page.

First remove the link that you have placed on the button and then you can add this in theme.liquid in your layouts folder right before the closing tag:

Thank you! I have added in the code and removed the link but now the button doesn’t show up? Do I need to put something in the space for Button link so it will show up?
There’s probably a conditional statement in the code that says “if there’s a link, then show the button.” I can go in there for you and alter the section code and get it working if you’d like, it’d be a little much to go over in a forum post.

Sorry one last thing I just noticed: it scrolls smoothly on my computer but not my iPhone. Is there a way to have both smooth scroll or no?
Check it again, it’s a problem with safari. I changed it back to an anchor tag and I believe that should resolve the issue.
Unfortunately it’s still jumping down to the image
Hm, I’ll try some other stuff, it’s because Safari doesnt support behavior: smooth – I’ll see if I can’t get something else working
