How to make product page photos into a featured slider - dawn theme

Hello everyone,

I am using the dawn theme. When you click on one of my products it takes you to the page where you can view the details, add to cart, etc. On desktop, it shows all of the product images, at their full size, stacked on top of each other. I want to know how I can change this into an image slider. Basically, one larger image, with the option to scroll through the other images or click on their little thumbnails. Pretty much just how every other website has their product photos. On mobile it is fine, just need help with desktop.

Hi @Dj9 ,

You can change your product photos layout in your theme without adding any codes. Please follow these steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.

  2. Find the Dawn theme that you want to edit, and then click Customize.

  3. Go to a Product page to edit.

  4. Click on Product Information.

  1. Change the Desktop Layout to Thumbnail carousel

  1. Click Save and check the result on your storefront.

Thanks for your response. I do not have this as an option under product information. Under media it just gives me two boxes I can check. “Hide other variant’s media after selecting a variant” and “Enable video looping.”

I will have to try the YouTube video later tonight.

My DAWN theme does not have this option either.

you can search for it while you are under edit option there is a search bar in the top middle of the screen.

Hello, Dj9 this is an easy task for you to do from your admin go to your online store, find theme

go to your dawn theme click on customization, edit your product page, click product information then change your desktop layout to thumbnails after that check your storefront to check the outcome of what you’ve done.
