How to manage order fulfillment and local pick up across multiple POS?

Hey Community,

I hope you started well into the new year.

I bring up an issue that really brings a lot of chaos into our business.

We have more than 4 POS and 1 Warehouse. The warehouse takes care of the online store order fulfilment but also offers local pick up. The POS actually offer local pick up, but their stock are not meant to be used, when customer orders online and wants his order to be shipped.

Now here comes the great part: Whenever our warehouse does not have an item left, shopify picks up quantity from a store. But as mentioned before, our stores do not ship products – and since you have the locations to be ticked as “Fulfill online orders from this location” so you can show them in the Zapiet app to as local pick up locations, i have not figured out any work around for this.

Does anybody has experience with this ? And is it true, that shopify inhouse functions cannot replace zapiet functions such as local pick and delivery?

I understand from your situation that you are looking for the ability to restrict the inventory at your POS locations to be available for pickup orders only, and not for shipping orders.

Shopify will fulfil orders from any location that is enabled for online order fulfilment, in the order set by you in your Location settings. There is not currently a way to disable certain locations from fulfiling certain order types. I’m afraid our app does not currently have a way to override this for shipping orders.

The only way I am aware of to prevent POS locations inventory from being used for shipping orders is to consolidate your online inventory in one location and only use that one location for fulfilling all orders.
