How to manage webhooks on Order Update event (vs Order Creation)

We’re experiencing issues with correct / full sales data being shared from Shopify to our 3PL via the webhooks currently integrated.

Current set up: Webhook integrated to Order Creation in Shopify.

Issue: we’re utilising post purchase Apps (such as Last - Post-purchase upsell via Shopify apps) and only the original data (from Order Creation) is being shared with the Warehouse. The data from the ‘order update’ (aka post purchase action) is not being received.

The warehouse developer is concerned that placing the hook on the Order Update may duplicate orders?

Any advice is welcome?

To be honest, that seems “slightly concerning” the 3PL developers would anticipate orders would “duplicate”…

We run several different webhooks to order statuses (e.g. mainly for Updates like Delivered & Shipped) but we’re always pushing these to our app and fairly certain our dev has the web hook built for Shopify Stores directly.
