A user working with Shopify’s Spotlight theme wants to modify how products display on their collection pages. Currently, clicking a product card navigates to a separate product page. Instead, they want to implement a “drop down” or overlay effect where product details appear on the same page without navigation.

This appears to be an open question seeking technical guidance on theme customization. No solutions or responses have been provided yet. The modification would require changes to the theme’s liquid templates and potentially custom JavaScript to create the overlay effect instead of standard page navigation.
I am using the spotlight theme on shopify and I would like to modify the display of product pages to have them “drop down” upon clicking the product card (if that makes sense).
