How to only display specific collection items in a drop down menu?

Hi There-

I’m in need of assistance of only showing items in my collection from the ‘Shop’ drop down from the Home page. When I select any of my collections, i.e. “Melanin Saddle-Seats” from the ‘Shop’ drop down from the Home page, when the collection page opens up, all my products are shown rather than just the items from the collection.

Assistance is appreciated.

From what you’re describing, it sounds like the menu item for your collection is linked to all your products. You actually have the ability to customize your menu and link its menu items to any chosen page in your store, or any external link. Since Melanin Saddle-Seats is not pulling up the right collection when you click it, we’ll simply need to edit this menu item’s link and add the collection you created. You can do so by following the steps below.

  1. In your Shopify admin, click Online Store > Navigation
  2. Click the title of the menu that’s currently shown on your website. If you didn’t make changes to the default menu settings, this may likely be Main menu.
  3. Click Edit beside the menu item you need to edit. In your case, it would be Melanin Saddle-Seats.
  4. On the right sidebar, click the box underneath Link.
  5. Select the appropriate collection or the page within the dropdown menu that appears.
  6. Click Apply changes.
  7. Click Save menu.
