How to reduce image banner size so has a max width?

Hi,

I’m using the Dawn theme and would like to set the image banner to a max-width of 1200px so when scaling on a desktop the image doesn’t expand the full screen. How can I do this?

Thanks for your reply. I don’t have a URL yet as I am on a trial so I am setting the store up and then will most likely transfer to custom domain and purchase a plan but I am having issues with the main image banner scaling too large and I was it to not go beyond 1200px.
