How to reduce shipping times for a dropshipping store?

Hey @Avishek67 ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I can certainly provide some guidance for setting up the most accurate shipping rates on the shop. To ensure I’m fully understanding, is the shop utilizing Shopify Shipping or is the dropshipping supplier sending out orders on your behalf?

If utilizing Shopify Shipping, you can offer Calculated Rates to customers which will determine the most accurate rate and fee based on the following:

  • shipping origin
  • shipping destination
  • weight of the shipment
  • value of the shipment
  • dimensions of the shipment box
  • dimensional weight
  • requested speed of delivery

The shipping carriers and rates available to you however, are based on your plan and fulfillment locations. For further insight on this, you can check out our Shopify Shipping Eligibility document for a breakdown of those details.

To set up calculated rates, you can check out this Setting Up Shipping Rates documentation for those details or follow the outlined steps below:

  • In the Shopify admin, head to Settings > Shipping & Delivery.

  • Next to the shipping profile where you would like to add a shipping rate, select Manage Rates.

  • Next to the zone you would like to add a rate for, select Add Rate.

  • Select Use Carrier or App to Calculate Rates.

  • In the drop-down menu, choose the shipping service that you want to add calculated rates for.

  • Select the shipping methods from that shipping service that you want to provide as options for your customers at checkout.

  • Optional: Select whether to automatically offer any new services that the shipping service makes available.

Touching on Shipping Speed, this is determined based on the shipping carrier and rate selected by the customer at check out. This time frame also only accounts for the time when the shipping carrier collects the shipment, to when it’s received by the customer. To ensure these are accurate, you can add and/or adjust shipping speeds by following this document.
