I have updated my blog page a couple of times and now the blog url has a -2 or -3 at the end. The main /blog page is the older version of my new /blog-3. How do I remove the older version of the blog so my url just reads /blog without the version number beside it?
The older versions of my blog posts are still available on google. Sometimes when I click on the “blog” under main menu the older versions pop up. I want to delete all previous versions so that wont happen.
To remove older versions of a page or a URL containing “-2” in Shopify on the Dawn theme, please follow these smooth steps:
Access the Blog Section: Start by navigating to the Blog posts section in your Shopify admin.
Select the Specific Blog Post: Choose the specific blog post that has the URL you want to edit. Please refer to this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/MHMWFo2rmA84.
Edit SEO Settings: Click on Edit website SEO to access the SEO settings for that blog post: https://prnt.sc/To1wk0-BNbRu.
Modify the URL: In the SEO settings, you’ll see an option to edit the URL. Here, you can modify the URL to remove the “-2” from it: https://prnt.sc/E_xLiyC4DeCs.
Save Your Changes: After making the necessary changes to the URL, ensure you save your changes to update the page.
Following these steps will help you streamline your URLs and enhance your website’s SEO. Hope this proves helpful!
